Partly-printed DS, one page, 11.5 x 18, March 1, 1781. Hancock appoints Daniel Henshaw to serve as a Justice of the Peace in Worcester County for a period of seven years. Nicely signed at the bottom in black ink by Hancock. Double matted and framed to an overall size of 17.5 x 24. In very good condition, with small areas of paper loss at junctions of the intersecting folds, one fold through a single letter of signature, scattered soiling and toning (heaviest along the horizontal folds), apparent repairs to several partial separations along folds. The paper seal is worn, but intact.
