Detailed color lithograph titled Erythronota Sophiae by English ornithologist and bird artist John Gould, presented in a period-style bamboo frame. The lithograph was illustrated by H.C. Richter and printed by Hullmandel & Walton, London. Often referred to as the British Audubon, John Gould was one of the most important bird illustrators of the 19th century, publishing over 40 volumes and more than 3,000 plates.
