<B>John Glenn - Lot of Six Signed Project Mercury First Day Covers</B></I> postmarked February 20, 1962, at Cape Canaveral, Florida celebrating the release of Scott #1193. John Glenn was one of the original "Mercury Seven" astronauts and he was the first American to orbit the earth, doing so in the <I>Friendship 7</B></I> on the very date these stamps were issued. All six of these covers feature blocks of four stamps, none are cacheted, nor are they addressed. All are signed with the early form of his signature "<I>J H Glenn, Jr.</B></I>" and one is inscribed "<I>Best Regards to Mr. sic Coons-</B></I>". Very fine condition. <I>From the estate of Dr. D.
