Admission ticket for the Jefferson–Jackson Kennedy dinner sponsored by the Democratic Party of Wisconsin at the Milwaukee Arena on May 12, 1962, 4 x 7.75, ticket No. 545, signed as president on the reverse in blue ballpoint. In fine condition, with a light crease to upper right corner, and a stray ink mark and trivial spot of discoloration. With the fractured political climate in Laos on the forefront of his mind, Kennedy flew to Milwaukee for a packed-house Democratic rally, conveying with confidence to the thousands in attendance that America would be able to withstand the international peril that dominated Southeast Asia. Despite American hesitancy to get involved, the first wave of US troops would land on Vietnam’s China Beach just three years later.
