Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 18 x 13, November 14, 1961. Kennedy appoints Carl Haverlin a member of the Advisory Committee on Arts for the National Cultural Center. Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Kennedy and countersigned by Secretary of State Dean Rusk. In fine condition, with lightly trimmed edges. The embossed paper seal remains crisp and intact. Haverlin was a former vice president of the Mutual Broadcasting System who began his BMI career as director of station relations, and ultimately becoming its president in 1947. Appointments from JFK are very seldom seen.
