Signed book: Profiles in Courage. Later printing. NY: Harper & Brothers, 1956. Hardcover with dustjacket, 6 x 8.5, 266 pages. Neatly signed and inscribed in ink on the first free end page, “To Shirley Herbert, with very warmest regards, John Kennedy. Albuquerque 1957.” An ex-libris sticker is affixed to the front board as is a Democratic Fund Raising Dinner ticket stub from a March 29, 1957, event at the Hilton Hotel in Albuquerque at which Senator Kennedy was the featured speaker. Twelve other attendees have signed on the half-title page and adjacent page. In very good condition, with heavy irregular toning to the signed page and inside front board, irregular squares of moderate toning to the last page and inside back board, and moderate toning to the dustjacket’s spine with soiling, creasing, and old tape repair. Such irregularities are balanced by JFK’s personal sentiment and relatively neat penmanship!
