Three items associated with Kennedy's last day in Texas: a souvenir program booklet for the 'Texas Welcome' dinner to be held at the Municipal Auditorium in Austin, Texas, on November 22, 1963, 8.5 x 11, 16 pages, containing brief biographies of the guests plus local advertisements; and two oversized printings of the text of JFK's speeches prepared for the Dallas Trade Mart and Austin 'Texas Welcome' dinner, published by the State Democratic Executive Committee of Texas, each two pages, 8.5 x 14, with quotes on the covers: "We are…the watchmen on the walls of freedom" and "This country is moving…and it must not stop." In overall fine condition, with some minor staining to the speeches.

President Kennedy was en route to the Dallas Trade Mart when shots rang out over Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963. That evening, he was scheduled to speak at the 'Texas Welcome' dinner, a fundraiser organized by the State Democratic Executive Committee on the final stop of the president's tour of Texas. With the president assassinated, neither event would take place.
