Original front page from the July 23, 1934, edition of The Baltimore News and the Post, 16.75 x 21.25, with the full-length headline announcing “Dillinger Led To Death By Girl Dressed In Red,” and featuring an image of a mob surrounding Dillinger’s body being removed from the scene. Second page bears a large headline which states “Dillinger Slain By Federal Agents In Chicago Trap,” with secondary headline stating “Surrounded Leaving Movie House; Girl Gave Tip, Report.” Page also features a photo of Mary Baum, whose husband, US Justice Agent Carter Baum was killed by Dillinger several months earlier. Uniform toning, chipping and paper loss to edges, some old tape remnants and a couple of repairs, otherwise very good condition.
