*John Dickson & Son Round Action 12 Ga
SN: 7280 Beautiful top quality Scottish made side-by-side trigger-plate-lock double barrel shotgun chambered for 2 3/4" 12 gauge shells, circa 1933. Features blued 25" barrels which have been cut from 27", sleeved & nitro proofed, solid concave rib marked "JOHN DICKSON & SON 60 PRINCESS STREET EDINBURGH", automatic ejectors, silver bead front sight, double triggers, case hardened receiver with extensive floral scroll engraving which extends to the triggerguard, sliding tang safety, finely checkered walnut splinter forend and well figured straight grip shoulder stock with blank gold oval escutcheon, checkered bare butt & 14 1/4" LOP. Marked "2" in gold on the forend tip, barrel rib and on the top lever, also marked in gold are "SAFE" on the upper tang and "Dickson's Patent" on the underside of the receiver. The water table is stamped "J.D & S/1744/PATENT"(meaning the 1,744th round action produced), [crown]/V twice, [crown]/BNP, & '7280". The barrels have been factory refinished at the time of the sleeving and retains approximately 98% bluing with only minor scattered wear observed. The receiver is primarily in the white but shows some faint case colors under the triggerguard and a browning patina forming behind the fences. Action is crisp, bores are pristine, markings are sharp and the wood stocks are very good with semi-sharp checkering and some small hairline cracks extending from the upper tang. Condition is near excellent as sleeved. ***C&R Firearm*** ***Modern Firearm***
