Partly-printed DS, signed “J. D. Rockefeller,” one page both sides, 16 x 8, January 4, 1888. Scarce brown stock certificate, featuring an engraved vignette of the U.S. Capitol, for 100 shares of Standard Oil issued to H. A. Hutchins, signed at the bottom by Rockefeller, as president of Standard Oil. In very good condition, with embossed machine cancellations to signatures, slightly perforating paper, slight trimming to edge of certificate where it is joined to the stub, light adhesive residue and toning, and previous storage folds. Rockefeller’s signature remains crisp and bold. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
