Author, poet and professor (1926-1988), best known for his 1952 novel Go. TLS signed “John,” one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, June 16, 1987. Letter to Ken Stuart who was in negotiations with Holmes for a book. In part: “The offer seems a sensible and practical offer to me, and I’ve sent the contracts and a copy of your letter on to Sterling Lord, who is my literary agent, telling him so…I trust you realize that the book we’re talking about is the book I outlined to you in my letter of proposal—a volume of journal entries from the 1960s.” In fine condition.
