US Deputy Marshal commissioned on August 31, 1886, in the Western District at Fort Smith, Arkansas serving under Marshal Jacob Yoes. Partly-printed DS, one page, 8.5 x 14, January 31, 1888. Carroll, as US Marshall for the Western District of Arkansas, approves a payment of $22.00 “for services rendered as Bailiff in attendance in the US District Court” for 11 days in January. Horizontal folds, an embossed District Court seal to lower left, and some scattered light toning, otherwise fine condition.
