Frémont: Rare Civil War-Period Vase Depicting the 1856 and 1864 Presidential Candidate.</B></I> Frémont is pictured here in a series of prominent Union generals; we have seen similar style vases for several other personalities as well. Frémont was the first G.O.P. standard-bearer in 1856, and ran a fractious liberal, abolitionist campaign in 1864. This is the only three-dimensional display item we can recall seeing for this important historical figure. Excellent condition.
