Letter to Captain Jasper Parrish, in full: “I have received your letter of the 8th instant. Your letter of the 11th Jany. was answered on the 13th instant. I have directed $100 to be remitted to you for the annuity due to young King for the half year ending 31st Decem. 1821. Capt. Jones’ salary cannot be remitted until an appropriation for the Indian Dept. is made by Congress.” Two areas of paper loss (affecting a single word of the text) and a block of irregular toning, otherwise fine condition.
