<B>John Brown Autograph Document Signed,</B></I> one page, 7.75" x 4", Stow, Ohio, December 16, 1841. This receipt reads in full: "<I>Received of O O Brown fourteen dollars and twenty nine cents, on two Barrels of damaged Flour, and twenty nine cents, to be applyed [sic] on said O O Browns note in my hands when the price of said Flour shall be agreed uppon [sic].</B></I>" This routine document was penned some years before Brown's abolitionist views erupted in the militant activism that made him famous. Light overall browning and worn folds. Quite legible with a precise signature. Fine condition.
