British aristocrat and professional gambler (born 1934) who famously disappeared after allegedly attacking his former wife and killing his children's nanny. TLS signed “Lucan,” one page, 5.5 x 7.25, 46 Lower Belgrave Street letterhead, August 21, 1968. Letter to Richard Wingert, in part: "I am afraid I cannot help you over Colonel Robert Tracy. My family's connection with Patrick Sarsfield is extremely remote; Sarsfield's elder brother William had a grand-daughter, Anne Vesey, who married Sir John Bingham, 5th Baronet, who died in 1749. Sir John's second son, the 7th Baronet, was created Earl of Lucan in 1795." In fine condition.
