The second half of Twigg & Bass, John Bass went independent following the death of his partner and uncle, John Twigg, running his own shop in London from 1790 to his death in 1794. Blade front and notch rear sights on the twist pattern barrel, with "LONDON" on the top flat, border engraving at the breech, and zig-zag patterns on the upper tang. The lock plate is marked "BASS", with vine engraving on the hammer, a fenced flash pan, roller frizzen spring and a sliding half-cock safety. Checkered knob grip stock, with dual barrel wedges, a horn tipped ramrod, and a silver inscription panel on top of the wrist. Writer believes this was once part of a cased pair.
