Confederate general (1832–1904) who surrendered Lee’s army to Union general Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain at Appomattox Courthouse. Ink signature, “J. B. Gordon,” on an off-white 4.25 x 1.25 lightly-lined slip clipped from a larger document. In fine condition, with small mounting remnant to reverse, and a stray ink mark above signature.
