Confederate general (1832–1904) who surrendered Lee’s army to Union general Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain at Appomattox Courthouse. Fountain pen signature, “J. B. Gordon, Ga.,” on an off-white 7 x 3.25 clipped album page. Light toning to the sides, a rough right edge, mild paper loss to the bottom right corner, and some faint pencil notations in another hand, otherwise fine condition.
