Three strands of hair removed from President John Adams at the time of of his death on 4 July 1826. Interestingly, both Adams and Thomas Jefferson died on the same day, the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Three strands of hair measure 1-1.5'' and are encased within a 2'' x 2'' protective sleeve, as part of a one-page display sheet measuring 8.5'' x 11'' with photocopied images including a vintage handwritten note reading, ''hair of the late John Adams taken 4th of July - 1826 - aged 91'', (though he was actually 90) as well as two portraits and two text boxes with quotes from Adams. Includes a COA from John Reznikoff of University Archives.
