<B>John Adams Collects a Debt for John Hancock</B></I> Partly printed Document Signed as an Autograph Endorsement, Jan, 13, 1773. One page, 7.5" x 12.5", Drew had promised in 1768 to pay John Hancock the sum of £80 for certain goods wares and merchandise, and having neglected and refused their obligations to pay over the ensuing five years, Hancock turned the matter to John Adams as his lawyer to win an order and collect. Adams writes: "<I>Mr Officer attach sufficient to hold bail by order of your obdt. John Adams</B></I>". Silked at the separating folds.
