Johann Franz Schwanthaler (Ried 1683-1762)- God the Father surrounded by an aureole, depicted seated on a cloud, his hands pointing to his heart, the head carved with rich curly beard and hair, the lips slightly parted, entwined in an elaborately draped garment, with two angels below supporting a banderole inscribed "HIC EST FILUS MEUS DILECT", thirteen rays worked in behind the clouds, limewood, carved in relief, with contemporary gilding, silvering and polychromy, partly restored at a later period, an authentic work by the Ried-based sculptor Johann Franz Schwanthaler, possibly dating from around 1730-40, (Er)
