The painting includes: 4 guard trumpeters, 1 captain leading the guardsmen, who in turn escort the unoccupied imperial carriage. in the foreground a lieutenant on an Arab. The Michaelerplatz Sq. resp. the Hofburg Palace still appears as it did before the re-construction of 1889. Johann E. G. Prestel was summoned to Vienna in the early 50s where he was employed as a court painter until 1861.
