Klostergasse, Verdienstmedaille", where Johann Baptist Reiter bought his canvases, (Wo)€ 20.000 - 25.000 US $ 19.800 - 24.750 Provenance: formerly in the collection of the Princes of Liechtenstein, who commissioned Reiter to copy Gentileschi's painting, at the time still in Vienna's Palais Liechtenstein; subsequently in a private collection, Vienna. Exhibited: "Bilder des Lebens - Johann Baptist Reiter und der Realismus des 19. Jahrhunderts", organised by the Museum Francisco Carolinum, Linz, at Schloß Grafenegg (Lower Austria) 22. May - 19. August 1990. Literature: exhibition cat. "Bilder des Lebens" No.311; listed in Strobl, p.48. Expert's Report: a letter from Dr. Wieczarek, director of the collection of the Princes of Liechtenstein, confirms that the present painting used to be part of the Liechtenstein Gallery (26. May 2002).
