Handwritten lyrics to a portion of the Ramones’ song ‘Censorshit’ on an 8 x 12 lightly-lined yellow sheet. Joey writes a couple of verses in black ink, some of which appeared in the final version of the song. Ramone writes, in part: “Your prolife tactics are really nowhere/Later to fry in the electrocutioners chair/Down on abortion but the death sentence alright/Just ask Alice Ozzy an me/Will show you how to be free/We come so far but only to find people like you with ignorant minds.” In fine condition, with central horizontal fold, a few creases, and a couple of light spots. The song was featured on the band’s 1992 album Mondo Bizarro, and was written by Joey to Tipper Gore and the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center) about how rap and rock n’ roll albums were being censored. Provenance: Joey Ramone Estate. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Joey Ramone Estate.
