Joey Ramone's personally-owned and -used turquoise-colored Kurosawa Marine Rider right-handed electric guitar with built-in amp and speaker and pearloid pickguard. Guitar is missing whammy bar and battery cover on reverse is partially cracked. Includes leather strap. In fine condition.

Although Joey Ramone never traditionally played an instrument during his career with the Ramones, the lanky front man did, on occasion, write songs on the guitar. According to bassist CJ Ramone, during the late '70s and early 1980s, Joey dabbled with a one-string acoustic guitar before he was turned on to open chord tuning and began experimenting with a black Ibanez guitar. While little is known about the Kurosawa guitar company, the Marine Rider is exclusively made and sold in Japan, and was likely purchased by Joey Ramone during one of the band's five Japanese tours in the early-to-mid 1990s. Interestingly, the guitar's pickup is reminiscent to the style found on a Mosrite guitar, the signature instrument of Johnny Ramone.
