Hall of Fame manager (1887–1978) best known for his leadership of the Yankees “Brown Bombers” teams from 1931 to 1946. DS, signed “Joseph V. McCarthy,” one page, 6 x 3.25, January 23, 1928. McCarthy gives permission “to use my portrait for reproduction,” to the Atlantic Lithographic and Printing Company, signing at the conclusion with his full name. In very good condition, with tear to right edge and scattered creasing and toning.
