Complete June 7, 1943, issue of LIFE magazine featuring an image of Foss on the cover in his dress uniform wearing his Congressional Medal of Honor, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint, “To Larry Pistole, My very best wishes, Joe Foss 1981.” Pistole was author of a book on the Flying Tigers and an autograph collector. In very good condition, with scattered creasing, handling wear, and a few stains. Accompanied by a page from another issue of LIFE showing Foss receiving his Medal of Honor from President Franklin D. Roosevelt, signed in blue ballpoint, “Joe Foss.”
