Joan Crawford Personal Signed Letter
Joan Crawford Personal Signed Letter - Dated September 29, 1952 this personal letter is from legendary actress Joan Crawford on her own addressed personal stationary. It was written to actor Van Johnson, and his wife Evie, thanking them for their note to her about her most recent film, which was the classic Film-Noir thriller “Sudden Fear” in which she portrayed a playwright who must deal with the deadly revengeful wrath of a stage actor (played by Jack Palance) that she rejected for the lead in her most recent play. The original stationary printed addressed envelope is postmarked September 30, 1952, with the original three cent stamp. It is signed by Joan with the rare single “Joan” (without the “Crawford”). She was known to only sign her first name to her most intimate and closest friends which makes this extra collectable. The letter comes from the personal collection of Van Johnson and includes a Letter of Provenience from his daughter, Schuyler Johnson along with a copy of her famous controversial cover story article “My Life As A Hollywood Princess”, about her trials and tribulations growing up in Beverly Hills with a superstar father and extended “family” with some of the most famous celebrities in the world.
