Joan Crawford typed letter signed on her personal stationery, dated 5 April 1961. Written later in her successful career, letter is addressed to Patricia Lahr, a fan, and reads in full: ''Thank you so much for the lovely painting in the frame, and for your sweet letter, and the Easter card. I was so touched that you spend so much time making the painting, and I am delighted to have it. I hope you will have great success with your paintings. How wonderful that you may go to Switzerland this summer. I hope your plans work out very happily for you. I do hope you have a nice Easter, and you were sweet to think of me. Bless you, and I send my deepest gratitude to you.'' Signed in black ink, ''Joan'', signature is large, measuring 3'' x 1.25''. Letter on one page measures 6.25'' x 6.75''. Bent corner and very minor toning, else near fine. Includes original envelope.
