Brother-in-law of Napoleon (1767–1815) who was a marshal in Napoleon’s regime and who reigned as King of Naples from 1808 to 1815. Partly-printed LS in French, signed “J. Murat,” one page, 4.75 x 7, April 1804. Untranslated letter in French to a military general. Murat asks the general to convene the Council of War for the trial of Sergeant Antoine Milon of the 21st Regiment of Dragoons, accused of murder. Light scattered creases and toning, and a small repaired tear below the text, otherwise fine condition.
