Ink and watercolor on paper, hanging scroll, featuring Su Wu, a Chinese diplomat and statesman of the Han Dynasty, signed Jin Nong (1687-1764, Chinese), inscribed with 1 artist seal, 85 x 45 cm, Jin Nong became popular as a painter and calligrapher while living as a childless widower in Yangzhou in his sixties. His paintings of mei blossoms were in particular demand there. Heralded as one of The Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou, Jin favored the amateur scholar style.
