Photo measures 8" x 10" in size and has been hand-signed in blue felt-tip pen by Jimmy Doolittle (D 1993). Please note, the autograph has been personalized to "Norm Schwab".
Jimmy Doolittle was an American aviation pioneer. Doolittle served as a commission officer in the United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War and was awarded the Medal of Honor for his valor and leadership as commander of the Doolittle Raid while a Lieutenant Colonel. 
The Doolittle Raid, also known as the Tokyo Raid, on April 18 1942, was an air raid by the United States on the Japanese capital Tokyo and other places on Honshu island during World War II, the first air raid to strike the Japanese Home Islands. The raid was planned and led by Lieutenant Colonel Jimmy Doolittle, U.S. Army Air Forces.
A portion of the sale of this auction will be donated to the General James. H Doolittle Scholarship Fund. The General James H. Doolittle Scholarship Fund was founded to assist college students by awarding one scholarship annually in the maximum amount of $5,000 to a deserving student who is pursuing a baccalaureate or advanced degree in aeronautical engineering or an aerospace science. Students are selected based on their scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need.
