General Jimmy Doolittle WWII-dated autograph letter signed ''Jim'' and dated 21 July 1943, one year after the Doolittle Raid over Japan. With a cover signed ''J.H. Doolittle'' and postmarked at APO 773 in North Africa. Addressed to a Mr. Wheeler at Shell Oil Co., where Doolittle worked prior, letter reads in part: ''won't be contented until I make a premeditated landing in Berlin. A rather ambitious project but would nicely round out a combat flying career...'' Letter measures 8'' x 10.5'' on 2pp. with folds and toning throughout. Near fine.
