A fearsome power hitter whose strength earned him the moniker “The Beast,” Foxx was the anchor of an intimidating Philadelphia Athletics lineup that produced pennant winners from 1929 to 1931. Vintage 7.5 x 9.5 magazine photo, taken from the inside front cover of Baseball Magazine, showing Foxx in his Athletics uniform holding his ‘Home Run’ bat, signed in fountain pen, “Jimmie’ Foxx.” A 1967 newspaper article regarding Foxx’s passing is affixed to the reverse. Trimmed edges, and some scattered light toning from adhesive on reverse, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
