The first guitar in Gibson's ‘Inspired By’ series, this stunning limited edition guitar (124/150) is a perfect recreation of the Flying V that Hendrix used on tour in Europe in 1967 and 1968, and features exact reproductions of Hendrix's own hand-painted designs from the original. In the process of hand-painting the Psychedelic Flying V, artist Bruce Kunkel used unique film as a guide to ensure that each color and brush stroke were perfect. The entire run of 150 instruments sold out within a week of release in March 2006. Authorized by the Hendrix estate, the guitar is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Jimi's half-sister and CEO of Experience Hendrix, Janie Hendrix, and Gibson Custom Shop manager Rick Gembar. The mint condition Flying V comes in a plush, custom hard shell case.
