Vintage ballpoint signatures and inscriptions, "Be Groovy, Jimi Hendrix," "Cheers, Noel Redding," "To Sheryl, a friend forever, Richie Havens," and one other on the reverse on an off-white 8.5 x 11 menu from the Greenwich Village night club Cafe au Go Go; affixed above the Hendrix signature is a complete (but torn in half) Cafe au Go Go ticket, presumably from the Hendrix show. In good condition, with intersecting folds, an old tape stain to the nearly complete separation along the central vertical fold, and overall toning and staining. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from REAL. The ‘Jimmy Hendricks Experience' [sic] replaced headliners Eric Burdon and the Animals for a series of shows at the Cafe Au Go Go on the nights of July 21–23, 1967. The shows were opened by supporting acts Richie Havens and Jeremy Steig and The Satyrs, with one of the Experience gigs made all the more memorable by an impromptu jam session with Eric Clapton, who was in New York recording with his band Cream. An extremely rare menu and concert ticket from a legendary club, featuring an impressive union of musicians that, in spite of its condition, boasts a cast of crisp signatures.
