Jimi Hendrix Owned and Worn Fringed Scarf
Jimi Hendrix Owned and Worn Fringed Scarf. A fantastically rare find, this brown silk knit scarf was owned and worn by Jimi Hendrix, and given to his noted personal friend Mike Quashie, New York's "Limbo King." Known to duck into Quashie's Manhattan apartment to elude his fans, Hendrix left behind two trunks of wardrobe before leaving for England in August 1970, less than a month before his death. This brown fringed scarf was among the items Hendrix left at Quashie's apartment, and after years of safekeeping, Mr. Quashie was pressed to sell the treasured item. Jimi's flamboyant sense of style included scarves tied loosely around his neck, or even tied around an arm or leg. This one must have been a favorite. It boasts six small snags, resulting in small tears (all under 2.5"). The extraordinary piece is in overall Very Fine condition, measuring 70" long and 6.5" wide. A rare find from the groundbreaking artist, supplemented with a well-documented provenance. Accompanied by a notarized affidavit from Mike Quashie as well as a New York Times article on Mr. Quashie's Hendrix-owned pieces.

Shipping: Clothing, Costumes & Jerseys (view shipping information)
