Amazing ballpoint signatures of the Jimi Hendrix Experience on individual off-white 8.25 x 6.5 stationery sheets—"Love, love, love, Jimi Hendrix, November 27, 1945, Sagittarius," "Love, Mitch, xxx, Bon London, 9. 7. 46.," and "Noel David Redding, born in Folkestone, Kent, England, on 25th December 1945." Each page is dated in the lower right corner, "3. 1. 68." In overall fine condition. Provenance: Julien's Auction: Music Icons, May 18, 2019.

If these signatures truly date to January 3, 1968, and not March 1, 1968, then they would fall on a particularly controversial date in the brief timeline of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. After landing in Gothenburg on January 3, 1968, to embark on a four-show tour of Sweden and Denmark, the members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience checked into the Hotel Opalen before going out to party late into the night. Their carousing continued after returning to the hotel until the staff received a complaint at 4 o'clock in the morning. Upon entering the room, the staff found Hendrix bleeding after having gone on a drunken rampage and punched through the hotel window. He was charged with criminal damage and taken to a hospital to receive stitches in his right hand. His court date was set for January 16 and in the meantime he was required to report to the police station every afternoon. Ultimately, Hendrix received just a small fine.
