Sought-after pairing of circa early 1969 German Pop Foto magazine photos: a black-and-white 8.5 x 11 image of Hendrix in a serene close-up pose, vertically signed in black felt tip, "Jimi Hendrix"; and a color 8.25 x 11.25 article on the Jimi Hendrix Experience featuring four images of the band, signed in blue ballpoint, "Noel Redding" and "Mitch." Reverse of the Hendrix-signed photo opens to reveal a centerfold of the band Ten Years After, which is signed in blue ballpoint, "Chick Churchill," "Ric Lee," "Leo Lyons," and "Alvin Lee." In overall very good to fine condition, with general light handling wear and surface impressions from signatures on reverse of Hendrix. Accompanied by a color 3.25 x 3.5 candid photo of Hendrix taken at the time of signing. Consignor notes that the Experience autographs were obtained outside Berlin's Kempinski Hotel on January 23, 1969. At the time of the signing, Hendrix and the Experience had been in Europe for nearly three weeks, playing several Scandinavian and West Germany dates in support of the band's third and final album, Electric Ladyland. A full set of Experience signatures remains highly desirable, with the visual appeal of these two magazine pages absolutely ideal for display.
