Disguised as a policeman, Skragg murders Mar-Vell's friend Professor Savannah, then arrests Rick Jones for the deed. Written by Jim Starlin near the beginning of his career, this magical and magnificent Marvel masterpiece is also pencilled by Starlin and inked by Chic Stone. The Captain Marvel vs. Thanos storyline proceeds for the next ten issues and many consider it the greatest of Starlin's cosmic stories. The overall page size is 10.5" x 15.75" with an image area of 10" x 15". The art is tremendous, with Starlin's blue line pencilling showing through. With the exception of tape staining along all four edges, the work is impeccable. Signed by Jim Starlin at the bottom right. <B>Estimate: $700-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
