1916, London, England. 3 1/2% Guaranteed Stock of the Great Central and Midland Joint Committee. Blue. Litho. Attached embossed red seal at lower right. Issued to Claud Goldsmid Montefiore (1858 - 1938) Jewish reformer, credited with significant contributions to the development and change in modern Jewish religious thought. He was controversial for his devotion to the study of Christianity and the incorporation of it into his own Jewish theology. Montefiore was a great nephew of Sir Moses Montefiore. Stamp and punch cancelled. Fine.
