GAD Jet great red racer very rare toy Los Angeles sales California tin car very old near mint with as is box with one end for excellent collectors as this one is all metal body and with rubber tires, it seems to have the gas also as the cartridge is visible still under it - this exquisite car is 7 1/2" ; the Long Land Speed Record Racer is faithful to the design of many Land Speed Streamliners that have run at Bonneville among other places ; this toy seems to have a very unusual OK-CO2 Engine that was sold as an accessory and was carefully installed by the purchaser or the vendor or the co. ; as it uses a CO2 cartridge to operate the small single cylinder motor like an spark plug maybe in a car or truck ; most of the Gad Jet Racers had provisions to mount a CO2 cartridge facing rearward but this one is forward face maybe, that when punctured, would "jet" the toy forward till the CO2 ran out, so one with an engine is utmostly hard to find ; this toy has maybe a chassis and a hard body of diecast metal that fasten together with 4 screws which are still there ; and on the bottom is also with two different sized screws for likely controlling it somehow as to circle or go straight or to speed with adjustable bracket maybe for maximum speed ; inside is inscribed Pattern Applied for plus name of GAD Los Angeles, etc.; nearly all the original red colour is still beautiful; part box, and on it is: Made by Allyn Sales Co. of Los Angeles California, circa in the 1950s or maybe 40's or 30's ; - under the Chassis is embossed "Penco" in raised letters ; Toy seems complete and All Original and in Near Mint or surely MINT Condition - Original Box is partial except for its ends and in Excellent Condition for age - what a marvelous extremely rare gift for yourself or loved one !!!
