Jerry Robinson - Original Art for Batman #13, Second Story, page 4 (DC, 1942). Here is the one you have been waiting for. This amazing piece of artwork is an early Batman by Jerry Robinson. Most artwork is great to own but how many people will ever get the chance to say they own an original Batman piece from the 40s, let alone a piece from the fourth year of his inception? Yeah, I know, that would be a thrill in itself, but get a gander at who is in four out of the seven panels...the JOKER! Batman and Robin are in two panels along with commissioner Gordon. Any piece from the first decade, or even the second or third, would be an attention-getter, but this close to the birth of a character that has arguably become the most popular comic character in history is quite a treat. Add the most popular villain to the mix and you've got a real showpiece. There is also a bonus sketch of a thug on the reverse. At the bottom it is inscribed "For Joe - from my misspent youth! Jerry Robinson KC 1989". George Roussos also signed this piece in 1990. This one will be sure to make you the envy of all your peers. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. This page is tanning and has minor white-out, but in any event, is a total joy to behold. This large piece measures 15" x 21".
