Jenks “Mule Ear” percussion carbine, .54 cal., 24” barrel, wood stock. This gun is in overall good condition showing an even light brown patina on metal surfaces with scattered light pin prick pitting and erosions, barrel dated 1845 and marked “USN” and inspected “RP” and “P”; good markings, good action, dark bore, brass barrel bands, trigger guard and butt plate; wood is overall good with a slight crack at the rear of the top tang, some scattered nicks and mars and the stamping “C28” on the left side of the butt stock at the rear butt plate.
