Jenks “Mule Ear” percussion SRC, .54 cal., 24” round barrel, two brass barrel bands, brass trigger guard and brass butt plate, brown finish, full length wood stock, #NVSN. This gun is in overall good to very goodcondition showing a brown patina on the barrel and a light grey patina on the lock plate; clear markings, “U.S.N.” marking on top of breech with JCB and P markings and 1842 date; the bore is very good, the actiondoes not stay on full cock, the wood is overall good with scattered old nicks and mars from carry and storage; about 4,250 manufactured between 1843 and 1846 and the only mule-ear type arm officially accepted by the U.S. armed forces.
