<B>Jeffrey Jones - "Tarzan and the Dum Dum" Painting Original Art (1997).</B></I> Tarzan paintings by Jeffrey Jones seldom come to the marketplace. Handsomely framed and ready to hang up, this is one of the largest of a series of pieces commissioned by Friedlander Publishing Group for its <B>Edgar Rice Burroughs </B></I>calendar. Jones created about two dozen paintings in all within that general motif. The series proved to be a landmark achievement. One of the paintings done for the calendar, "Tarzan Rescues the Moon," received a gold award in <B>Spectrum 5</B></I>.<B> </B></I>The overall quality of Jones' ERB series was so remarkable that a second award was presented to another piece, "Back to the Stone Age" (the July plate). This scene, "Tarzan and the Dum Dum," while not in the calendar, was showcased in <B>The Art of Jeffrey Jones </B></I>on page 120.
