ALS signed "Jeff," three pages, 6.75 x 9, February 13, [1968]. Letter to Darryl Stolper, in part: "I was so glad to hear Albert King was good. I heard 'cold feet.' And had heart failure! Please send copy! As Eric Clapton is soon leaving I thought I may as well give him all the records as well, to give to you. I have a tape recorder 'Sony.' Stereo. Solid state so any tapes would be welcome. Please for give my new single! 'Love is Blue.' But Mickie Most (my producer) think its a smash for me in Britain as it is No. 1 in U.S.A. I hope you like my version best. There are 8! The flipside is more my scene. A song that Rod [Stewart] and myself wrote. Maybe you could plug it for us! I'm so pleased that you and Mary are cool again...What day is Mary's birthday! I can't remember...I still care about her very much. But I try not to think about it for very obvious reasons. Is the new 'Beach Boys' album out over there can you get one I heard it supposed to be fantastic...I had an idea, if I find an offer of a hot-rod in a magazine I'll cut out the ad, and send it, then perhaps we can go from there." He adds an interesting postscript in the lower right, "Judging by your drawing I'd say that guitar is a Gibson 'Flying Arrow'—Hendrix has one." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and a detailed letter of provenance from the original recipient, a close friend of Beck who first introduced Beck to Mary Hughes. Hughes, a 'Beach Party' actress mentioned twice in the Beck song 'Psycho Daisies,' became romantically involved with the guitarist and was one of the instigators of Beck's departure from the Yardbirds—he was spending more time with her than the band. Offering spectacular content on music of the period, this is a truly remarkable letter. Pre-certified REAL.
