Swiss painter and sculptor (1925-1991). He is best known for his sculptural machines or kinetic art, in the Dada tradition. Original pencil and ballpoint graphics on an 11.75 x 8.5 off-white sheet. Tinguely incorporates Siegfried Salmann’s first name into the graphic, along with several other words, geometric forms, and numbers, as well as a small taped on slip. At the bottom he adds a short pencil note, in German, at the bottom which reads, “Is the NiKi From 18 August for 10-18 days in Soisy SUR Ecole: tel 4990054 She is waiting for your visit. Jean.” Siegfried Salzmann was from 1971 to 1984 Director of the Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum in Duisburg and then to 1993, Director of the Kunsthalle Bremen. In fine condition.
