French rococo print, framed. Featuring the Duchesse de Chartres posed as Hebe, cup bearer to the gods. Provenance inscribed on verso and transcribed below as faithfully as possible. "French Lady" (18th Century French Print). Sept 1976 Edna Smeed 128 E. Sola Santa Barbara. Purchased from Helen Kinoelle 140 E. Sola (Santa Barbara City) Brought from her parent's home, in Pence in early 1990's. Two faint signatures and the date 1920 also found on verso. Attributed to Jean-Marc Nattier (1685-1766) A French painter, who was born in Paris, the second son of Marc Nattier, a portrait painter, and of Marie Courtois, a miniaturist. He is noted for his portraits of the ladies of King Louis XV's court in classical mythological attire. PROVENANCE: Private Canadian collection
